She has officially been out of my tummy for as long as she was in it! Ahhh! 😀
LIKES ::
- playing with her shaped blocks & taking them out of their container
- being lifted up onto her legs (she stands and dances and then falls back on her bottom)
- bath time / playing in the water
- telling Mommy & Daddy about her day (so talking… haha)
- laughing
- sitting and then leaning forward and getting onto her tummy
- scooting backwards
- Cheerios
- staying up past bedtime
- watching Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood
- reading books
- seeing Mommy come home from work
- hanging out with Daddy
DISLIKES ::
- peas (she does NOT like peas!)
- going to bed (sometimes she doesn’t mind, but lately, it has not gone very well)
- watching Mommy leave
MOM LIFE ::
We start our day with a 5oz bottle and some baby food (applesauce, pears & peaches are our favorite!) no later than 8am, and then 8oz of formula at 12pm, 4pm and 7:30pm(ish). When we sit down for dinner at 6pm as a family, we get some baby food (sweet potatoes & butternut squash are our preferences) and then some Cheerios. She is awesome at grabbing them and putting them in her mouth (if we give them to her one at a time… if we put out more then 3, 90% of them will end up in her lap).
Sleep? What is sleep? Rylie has started rebelling against it, which I understand is normal, but still rough. Naps are usually no big deal, but bedtime is not always our favorite. We’ll put her down by 8pm per usual, and if we’re lucky, she’ll fall asleep and sleep until 6:30am. HOWEVER, most nights lately we put her down and she’ll wake up after an hour OR she won’t even fall asleep and she’ll just be crying unless one of us picks her up. Our exhaustion and desire for sleep has caused us to bring her bassinette back into our room so she’s slept in that a couple times but other nights one of us (or both of us) will stay up with her, get some energy out and she’ll finally be falling asleep at 11:30pm. Typically, we choose the bassinette.
Crawling is on the way. She can get herself in the position, but she hasn’t been able to actually move yet. Well, let me clarify – she can move, it’s just backwards 😛 BUT, she just started to hold our hands and pull herself up, stand for a few seconds, and then fall on her bottom. She does it over and over and thinks it’s so great (it probably helps that we give her a lot of praise for doing it), so we may just skip crawling all together…
She still loves talking and singing. She has lots to say these days which is fun. She really does tell the best stories. I’ll ask her how her day was or what she did and she just starts babbling and telling me all about it. While I was at MOTION17 conference, Aaron was watching her by himself and he said he was talking to her about where I was and she looked at him and said, “Mama” so he is counting that as her first word. Even when I’m around, she looks at me often and will say, “Mamamamama!” …. Sorry Aaron… Mama won! 😉
With me working full time now, my time with Rylie isn’t what it used to be, but it makes me cherish every moment that I get with her. ❤
Rylie is growing beautifully and she is only getting more and more fun!
